“Down
On The Line”

Take a close look
at our cities, and take a good look at our town,
Things a mess and it ain’t pretty, when all our jobs are foreign bound,
But this I know my friend, we didn’t turn things end for end,
We teach the kids, the fires we tend, we know we’ve given back,
We haul the trash, we build the cars, and we don’t ask the moon and
stars,
But what
we’ve fought & earned is ours!
Down on the line,
We sweated out the best we have to give,
Down on the line, We only ask a decent way to live,
A nation’s humble servants sentenced just to doin’ time,
When freedom falls, we hear the call, see you down on the line!
Pitting worker
against worker, men conspire misguided schemes,
While givin’ corporations free rides , and bustin’ workin’ families’
dreams
And folks are scared and money’s slow, but it ain’t us that need to
go,
‘Cause arrogance is never right, It’s time to take this country’s
fight,
Down on the line,
We sweated out the best we have to give,
Down on the line, We only ask a decent way to live,
A nation’s humble servants sentenced just to doin’ time,
When freedom falls, we hear the call, see you down on the line!
So grab a friend and find a rally, yeah make a sign and hold it high,
Our fellow workers are our allies, when proudly union banners fly,
But no matter where we are, let our voices carry far,
‘Cause avarice is never right, It’s time to take this country’s fight,
Down on the line, We sweated out the best we have to give,
Down on the line, We only ask a decent way to live,
A nation’s humble servants sentenced just to doin’ time,
When freedom falls, we hear the call, see you down on the line!
